| Comments: | Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until passage of the community protection act of 1990 (which mandates sex offender registration) that law enforcement even knew where they were living. In many cases, law enforcement is not able to share that information with you. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated. Further, such abuse could potentially end law enforcement's ability to do community notifications. We believe the only person who wins if community notification ends is the sex offender, since sex offenders drive their power through secrecy. According to official documents, King pled guilty to the crime of Indecent Liberties in Snohomish COunty Superior Court and was given a term of 20 months in prison. In March of 2012 a known 19 year old male was staying overnight in King's Home. The victim had a headache and asked King who was his sponsor in a twelve- step program for a pain reliever. After taking what he thought was pain medication he became extremely sleepy. When the victim woke up he was in pain and asked King what had happen. King confessed that he sexually assaulted him during the night without knowledge or consent. Three other individuals later told police that King admitted to them that he (King) had raped the victim. While in prison, King entered into sex offender treatment. He will be on active supervision for 36 months with the Everett Office of the Department of Corrections. 425-356-2800. " Probation Conditions Shall have no direct or indirect contact with the victim. Shall not use, possess or consume any controlled substance without a lawfully issued prescription. Shall entered into and successfully participate in a counseling program as directed. Shall not purchase, own, have in his possession or under his control any firearm or deadly weapon. Shall submit to a breathalyzer whenever requested by DOC. Shall obey all Municipal, County, State, Tribal and Federal laws. Shall not consume alcohol. |
