| Narrative: | On the above date and time, an officer of the Brooksville Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a white GEO 2 door at the intersection of Ellington Avenue and MLK Blvd. for an equipment violation. The officer made contact with the driver, Ernest Sheldon. The officer had a drug detecting K-9 respond and conduct a sniff of the vehicle’s exterior for the odor of narcotics. The K-9 gave a positive alert for the odor of narcotics and the vehicle’s interior was searched. In the seat where Sheldon was sitting, the officer found two crack cocaine rocks and a crack pipe. Sheldon denied knowledge of the crack and paraphernalia even though he was sitting on them. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Hernando County Jail. A records search revealed Sheldon is currently out on bond pending an arson charge. Due to this, he is being held without bond. |
