| Comments: | Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until passage of the community protection act of 1990 (which mandates sex offender registration) that law enforcement even knew where they were living. In many cases, law enforcement is not able to share that information with you. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated. Further, such abuse could potentially end law enforcement's ability to do community notifications. We believe the only person who wins if community notification ends is the sex offender, since sex offenders drive their power through secrecy. According to official documents, Austin pled guilty to the crime of Rape in the 3rd Degree on March 31, 2011 and was given a term of 30 months in prison. The victim in his crime was a known 30 year old female. While traveling from Oregon to Washington the Suspect and victim spent the night in a motel. Austin was sleeping in another bed when the victim awoke to find Austin sexually assaulting her with his hand in her vagina. The victim did not confront Austin as she did not want to involve her sleeping children. The victim reported the crime three days later after they had returned to Oregon. Austin traveled back to Bothell and confessed his actions to the Police. Austin entered into treatment while in prison, but it is unclear if he completed this treatment. He was released from prison on 8-14-2012 to an Oregon address. Austin then moved to Washington on March 20, 2013. Austin is on active supervision with the Everett office of the Department of Corrections: 425-356-2800. " Probation Conditions Shall not consume controlled substances except pursuant to lawfully issued prescriptions. Shall submit to breathalyzer testing as requested. Shall not possess or peruse pornographic materials. Shall not consume alcohol. Shall not connect with or call any phone service that provides sexually explicit conversations. Shall submit to polygraph testing as directed. Shall not possess electronic devices. Shall not enter bars, taverns or lounges. Austin will attend Sex offender treatment. |
