| Comments: | On two separate occasions in early 1995, Rutherford picked up female prostitutes and transported them to a secluded area. Shortly after arriving at the secluded area, Rutherford physically assaulted the females. On one occasion, the victim was disabled and Rutherford then sexually assaulted her. On the second occasion, the female victim managed to get away from Rutherford and run for help. Both victims were in their early 30's. In 1996, Rutherford was convicted for these crimes and found guilty of one count of 1st Degree Rape and one count of Attempted 1st Degree Rape. Rutherford was sentenced to 7 1/2 years in DOC custody. Rutherford did not receive sex offender treatment while in prison but it is now reported he did attend some sex offender treatment after being released from prison. Rutherford has numerous other non-violent criminal convictions. Rutherford is currently under DOC supervision. |
