| Comments: | According to official documents Summiel was convicted by jury trail in Island County Superior Court on 01/13/2004. He appealed this conviction and on 07/14/2006 the original charges were reduced to one count of Rape of a Child Second Degree and he was sentenced to 59 months in prison. This conviction was the result of Summiel establishing a relationship with the known 12 year old male victim. As the relationship continued the victim was spending quite a bit of time at Summiel?s residence including spending the night a couple of times a week. Soon after establishing this relationship Summiel began sexually assaulting the victim. Summiel groomed the victim by purchasing him expensive gifts and giving him money on a continual basis. This continued from the victim?s age of 12 to 16. Summiel had asked the victim to bring friends over and this is how he met the unknown 14 year old male victim. Summiel had this victim watch while he sexually assaulted the first victim and soon began sexually assaulting him. He groomed this victim in the same manner by purchasing him expensive gifts and giving him money. Summiel did not participate in sex offender treatment while in prison because he remained on the waiting list with no openings available for him. Summiel is not on active supervision and his only requirement is to register as a sex offender. |
